BMW Automated Visual Inspector


This project developed a camera-based inspection system for BMW Plant Spartanburg. The system inspects automobiles during manufacturing on the assembly line to determine if the correct parts have been installed. The below image shows a snapshot of the system identifying if 8 screws have been installed on the underbody. More information about the project can be viewed in this powerpoint presentation.


Demonstrations

Based on engine model, checking if the correct badge decal has been installed on the doors.

Based on spare tire, checking if correct tool has been placed un trunk.
